Swiss State Secretary for Education, Research and Innovation visits Indonesia

H.E. Dr. Mauro Dell’Ambrogio, Swiss State Secretary for Education, Research and Innovation, accompanied by H.E. Dr. Yvonne Baumann, Ambassador of Switzerland to the Republic of Indonesia, Timor Leste and ASEAN, made a visit to CIFOR in Bogor, Indonesia on 15 March 2016. The visit was to learn about CIFOR’s work, international cooperation and future strategy; past, current and possible future cooperation between CIFOR and Switzerland. Other delegation members include those representing SECO, Swiss National Science Foundation, ETH Global, Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETHZ), University of Applied Sciences Rapperswil, Corporate Research Agroscope (CRA), Swiss  Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL), Zurich University of Applied Sciences, University of Geneva and Swiss Federal Institute of Aquatic Science and Technology (EAWAG). In conjunction with the visit, a series of presentations were made by CIFOR scientists. Heru Komarudin on behalf of the OPAL project made a brief overview of the OPAL Indonesia project, current research activities and efforts to link science to policy and practice, including planned Companion Modelling processes.
